Oops! Catching up.

Tagged!
I got tagged by Quantum Tea for another meme:

The Rules:

Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

What I was doing 10 years ago:
June 1998: Going to Montana! Right about this time. There was still snow around. It was a beautiful trip.

What 5 things are on on my to-do list for today (not in any particular order):
Print more letters for our letter-writing campaign at work, vacuum the living room, get billings done at work, pay a couple of bills, watch Hell's Kitchen.

Snacks I enjoy:
Oreos. Pickles rollups. Crackers with cheese.

Things I would do if I was a billionaire:
Quit work. Pay off all my bills. Travel around the world and visit all my blogging friends. Buy back Grandpa's tractor. Buy a BIG tractor. Buy the farm.

Places I have lived:

Lansing, Grand Ledge, Michigan, and Upland, Indiana.

and I'm going to tag: Julie, Roscoe, Susan, Tien, Gail, Patti, and Kathryn. And anyone else that wants to play!

I'll never make a master gardener

Originally uploaded by Mr Magoo1

My niece and nephew had a chance to snuggle with a fawn. Does often leave the babies, as the mama has a scent that might attract predators.

The mama came back in the night, and the fawn followed her to a new place, according to the tracks left behind.

This is a wild rose from the backyard.

Storm Outcome

The 4:00 p.m. storm Sunday was the killer one, literally. The route I take to work, Mount Hope Highway, took the brunt of it. A woman was working on her trailer-camper, readying it for vacation. It fell over on her, killing her. There were so many trees and wires down that it took 20 minutes for the rescue crew to get to her. The highway looks like a war zone. Three barns that I have admired are either flattened or have lost much of their timber.

This was a straight line wind of about 85 miles per hour. Tornadoes aren't the only killers. I was lucky, I was actually driving when it hit. I'll be more careful in the future.

Power!

Yes! The lights are on! I came home last night expecting to work around the place for a couple of hours and then head back to town, but . . . the power is on! Yay! Work had been very tiring. I work for a heating and air conditioning company. With the heat and the storms, plus the letter campaign we're carrying on now, the phones never stopped ringing. I was very glad to be able to crash here, after I'd picked up a bunch more branches and sticks that had fallen.

And how are you?

Wild Weather!

Hi y'all! Sorry to be missing you, but we've been having some wild weather. Storms Friday night, no power. Storms Saturday, still no power. Had power for a little while today, but then another storm blew through. No power.

Hanging out at Mom's so I can get a good shower before work tomorrow.

Oh, yeah, and we had a graduation in the family Saturday.

How are you doing?

Fairy House time

I think it is getting close to fairy-house building time.

Mackworth Island, Maine, is home to many fairy houses. A flickr search brings up these examples.

WikiHow explains the mechanics here.
