Traffic fines have always been about revenue, rather than to encourage safer driving. But that's just plain ridiculous.

And what happens if you can't pay the fine 'cos it's so huge? Jail?
Another law for July 1st was a UK smoking ban in all enclosed spaces. Virginia must be in need of some serious cash to bump up the fines like that.
