This year, for the first time in a long time, I'm playing the "don't turn on your furnace until it's REALLY cold" game. We had a cold spell in September, but the long forecast showed we were going to get warmer, so I didn't turn it on. It got down to 62 in here, but then the thermometer started its uptick.
I'm at 66 now, with warm (70 degree) days and cool nights in the forecast. I'm seeing how low I can go. How low do YOU go?

Oh, poor you! With the wood heat and Rick's cold feet, it seems we went only one month last year without building a fire at least once. He was still able to cut, split and stack enough wood for yet another long winter. Life seems just too darn expensive these days.
