When you feel sad . . .

And disheartened . . . what do you do to be good to yourself?

Hi Shirl, Sorry to hear you're still on the down side. When we hit bottom, there's no place to go but slowly back up. A few years ago, when I saw smiling, happy people, I couldn't figure out what they were so happy about but time brings us back and now, I'm happy too. I try to smile at the few people I do see in my week,

The very best thing that helps me is to focus on the good in people, even if it's small things. Today, a guy was out of his truck, in the middle of the road, a state highway as I was coming along at 60 mph. I saw him and slowed to a stop. He was just removing a momma turtle that was bound and determined to lay her eggs somewhere warm, even if it was in the middle of the road. It made me happy to see him do that and he was happy I didn't run him over. I smiled and gave him the peace sign and we both moved on with our day. Nothing bad happened today but that was one of the few small things that made me smile.

Thanks,Kim. Wonderful wonderful advice. And I do feel that things are on the upswing, be it ever so slowly. Blogstuff as opposed to other social media is and always has been good to me, because of people like you who share. Makes things much less lonely and gives another perspective to life. Thank you!

Well, that's good, cuz that type of comment is usually out of my comfort zone, but for you, I will! Hope every day gets a little easier and brighter. It's a tough, tough world out there. I'm lucky not to have to go out in it very often.
