Stormy Weather!

Got caught by another storm yesterday, a real soaker that lasted from about 4 to 10. As often happens lately, lost power about 9:00 p.m.

Let me tell you about "no power" in the country.

• Water is well-water, which needs a pump. No electricity, no pump, no water.
• Dark in the country isn't very dark when the power is on. Most farmsteads have a yardlight. When the power goes off, the countryside becomes very dark.
• Fireflies are AWESOME when there is no power. They are the only light in the dark, and it is magnificent! Wow!!
• When power returns, the first indication will often be the sump-pump, working in the cellar.

I was glad that the power came back on sometime between 2:30 and 5:00 a.m.
