Happy December!

And tear another page from the calendar . . .

I was sick Wednesday early morning (2ish, wouldn't you know), so I called in at 7:00 and said I would be in at noon. I crawled back into bed for some quality sleep. Shortly I heard voices. Real voices. Outside my bedroom window. Huh?

Then I remembered. The split tree on the north side of the house was coming down. Mom had wanted to remove it when I first moved in. "It's picturesque," I argued. But it was also dying, and threatened not only the laundry room roof but the maple tree and the magnolia bush that Hann once told me she wanted to get married beneath. Well, geez, that wouldn't do.

Pictures make it easier to say good-bye.

bye to the split tree

However, tree removal meant bye-bye to any power restorative sleeping! Oh well.

Feeling better now? Hope so. Sad about the tree but sometimes it just has to happen.

Happy December Shirl! I'm so glad to have found your blog! You've been a faithful blogger for many years already it looks like! I see you're also interested in scrapbooking which is a fairly new hobby to me. I only do digital tho.

Actually the reason I found you here was because I was thinking of you and that you had liked that photo of the old house with the tractor in front and I'd love to have one sent to a Walgreens near you if you'd still like a copy. Maybe you don't have a Walgreens, I can have it sent to mine and mail it.

Your comment on my created December deer photo was so sweet and I wish I were able to do something with my photography as it seems to be the only thing I'm halfway good at but I'll never be able to do it.

I hope to visit you more often now that I found you here! Maybe I can make a link list of blogging buddies and put you on it.

Have a good weekend!
Kim

still a bit under the weather, but have been back to work and doing some stuff around town, so I think I will survive. Thanks, Julie!

Hi kim!!! Good to see you! I've been blogging for awhile now. In fact, that's how I found flickr. Both are good ways to be on the web!

I love that picture of the Case tractor. My Grandpa had one. Let me see if I still have your address, and I'll send you a check. We do have a Walgreens, but I've only been there once. I'll try to figure out how that works.

I'd be pleased to be on any list that you put me on.

Kim, I was at the artsy side of our town today, and thought of you. You have such a talent, combined with access to beautiful country that tugs at folks heart strings. I didn't see anything in the photo/digital/art that came CLOSE to your work, and yet folks want a pretty penny. Maybe I can send you a list of galleries down here, or something. You're darn good. I mean really really good, and your work should be out there!!!

Hi Shirl,
Found a new way to communicate with you and I like it as I don't like saying too much on flickr.
Don't send a check! I can order the photo from home and you can just walk in and ask for it under your name or mine. I'm going to check real quick to see if I have a photo of that tractor without the house in it. You may like that better. I'll get back to in a bit.
Our snow arrived thick and heavy but it warmed up with the snow and I expect a lot of it to melt. Messy business!
Have a super Sunday and I'll check on that photo.
