Quaint, rustic, all those sort of words. :)
I remember chatting with JP all those years ago and she said that her daughter had never seen real fruit on a tree. That always stuck in my mind as a really bad thing for some reason.

There is a large Amish community in the third township southwest of me. They relocated to this area in the late 70's and early 80's. I'm so glad they did.

My mother had told me for years about horse-plowing, but this was my first time to see it in action other than in the fields at MSU. The furrows are amazing, so much richer looking than when done with tractor.

I see JP online still, for the last few months. I don't bother her, I imagine she has moved on. What a shame for her daughter on the fruit tree. (Did I tell you I have an apple and a pear tree *grin*?)

We have a pear tree too. And an apricot one - tho' the cockies have destroyed that. Mum and Dad have 2 apple trees, 1 plum, 1 grapefruit, 1 fig and 4 lemon trees. Paula and Phil had a great peach tree but it caught a disease and had to be taken out. They have plums and lemons too.

and the cockies destroy the trees. Oh my. Here they would fetch good money at the pet store!

Hi, old lady!
