Even if you're amidst hell on Earth, I think happiness needs to come from within.
But I totally get the concept of a physical location that helps soothe the mind and soul. I so easily find that in Alaska. Doesn't take much at all to go somewhere you can sit all day and never see anyone. Doesn't take much where you can go and sit for a week and never see anyone! Talk about peacefulness!
I thought you would be "Rivers", Diane, and I love your answer, Julie! I agree about happiness, aka, and yet, most religions have a concept of "retreat". Alaska sounds wonderful.
